Last night was the first class for the ladies that are new golfers wanting to learn the game! We covered the first important fundamentals of how to hold the club, stance, posture and balance. Then we had fun hitting golf balls! Ended with everyone signing up for next week!

Tonights Ladies night is for the intermediate golfers. Those with 3 or more years playing and simply working on improving all their skills.

The first annual “Ladies on the Links Open House & Customer Appreciation was held Monday March 7 and extremely well attended by over 50 ladies getting ready to kick off the 2011 Golf Season.

Our sales staff, Nik, Ryan, Patrick, Ann, and Rick helped out everywhere and said there was a bee-hive buzz going on in our shoe department with our sales staff and two vendors – Pam with Ecco and Brad with Foot Joy. These companies are the best when it comes to golf shoes – period!

Ping, Cleveland, Adams, & Nike were well represented on our practice tee line with clubs to ‘test-drive’ and a this area also saw plenty of action. We had all of our propane heaters running to stave off the brisk evening air. Bionic Golf Gloves and PowerChute were also there.

Two ladies golf associations were there with information about their golf groups: EWGA’s – Kathy and NLGA’s – Kim. They helped spread the word about their leagues and golf opportunities for women of all skill levels.

Meg Barlament introduced a great product for anyone that spends time outdoors – a Spray-On Sun Screen product that is simply amazing. Needs to be in everyone’s golf bag! She also offered products for golfers that are interested in achieving energy without sugar and calories (who wouldn’t love that) and low calorie snack bars.

Inside I met with current lesson customers as well as meeting new golfers ready to get started with group lessons and it was so nice to meet everyone and I want to thank everyone for being present. Look for another social night coming in April and if it works out this will become a monthly event!

I also had two very special door prizes for this event. Auburn Golf Course provided 2 Certificates for 2 rounds of golf for 2 with power carts. My friend Hanna designed the center pieces for the tables and Pam with Ecco offered gift certicates -for trying on a pair of Ecco shoes! It was so much fun. And Meg had a drawing for 16-100 calorie Snack bars! So all total – 7 people were winners, and here they are:

It was a success because of your support!  And to all the customers that attended, this evening was for you!

Lots of Positive energy this season as lessons are off to a good beginning.
Keeping in line with my ‘one Swing at a time’ teaching philosophy I remind all my students: “It is not what happens during your golf lesson that counts the most, but what happens to ‘you the student’ when you are playing and practicing on your own.”

Now is the time to set short term and long term goals for the season. Make a plan for improving one area. Stick with the practice plan we agree to during your lesson and the shift to better golf begins.

Look for weekly “On the Tee Line Tips” during this golf season so check back often.

“…Be bold with kindness”…….that saying has given me a postive energy. For me it’s about staying in the present and through kindness make a difference with people that I meet from day to day.

Ladies, the sound of the weather report isn’t looking to be ‘dry’ on Tuesday or Wednesday. The other factor against us – is daylight. Let’s simply plan to meet at Puetz this week and golf will have to be rescheduled.

‘Golf Fest 2009′ is in the books and many people attended, and many people were surprised at how well organized the inaugural event was managed. People were excited to see various local vendors including my employer – Puetz – that brought in vendors from Adams, Callaway, Cleveland, Mizuno, Nike, Ping and Taylor. Bridgestone was a sponsor and offered ‘ball fitting’ to attendees.

My goal and participation with the event was to inform attendees that we were offering our Winter Lesson Special – purchase 2 lessons and get three! Anyone that purchased at the show would be able to use the special beginning on September 28. Otherwise the special will be available at the Aurora location starting November and the 3 lessons must be used by February 28, 2010.

Thank you to all the people that I had the privilege of meeting and talking to. Never a day goes by when I do not learn something new. There were some interesting things at this fall show, and watch my website for some potentially cool things I will be able to make available.

As the week progresses the temperatures are expected to rise to dangerous levels.  When we meet at Jackson Park golf course tonight Tuesday July 28, and tomorrow night, Wednesday July 29, you must remember to bring your water bottles FULL with you as there are not any water fountains on the course! The high temps are exceptionally dangerous for kids and elderly and drinking plenty of water before, during and after any outdoor activity is advised.

There was some confusion last week whether I would be on the ‘tee line’, and my apologies for that misunderstanding. When the Junior date was announced I had to reschedule with you and we will be off track for a few more weeks.

The schedule will be as follows from this point forward:

August 19 -  9am to 10:15 am
